Disney's Space 220 Restaurant: Honest Review & Tips

Dining at Space 220 is one of the more unique experiences you can have at Disney World, but it also comes with a hefty price tag and a lot of hype. If you’ve been wondering whether Space 220 is really worth your time and money, I’m sharing our honest review to help you decide before booking.

When Space 220 first opened in 2021 it was the hot new Disney dining spot and nearly impossible to snag a reservation. Fast forward a few years and while it’s still popular, the initial buzz has faded and mixed reviews have left many guests wondering if Space 220 is really worth it. After hearing all the pros and cons, we finally booked a reservation during our February 2025 trip to see for ourselves. We enjoyed the experience, but with so many amazing restaurants in EPCOT, is Space 220 truly worth the hype and the price tag? Here’s our honest review to help you decide.

Where is Space 220 located?

Disney's Space 220 Restaurant is located in EPCOT at Walt Disney World, right next to Mission: SPACE in World Discovery. It’s tucked a bit off to the side, so if you’re not looking for it you might miss the entrance.

Since it’s inside the park, you will need a valid Disney World ticket (and a park reservation if those are required during your visit) to dine here.

How expensive is a meal at Space 220?

Space 220 is definitely one of the pricier dining options at Disney. At lunch, adults pay a fixed price of around $55 and kids are $29, while dinner jumps up to $79 for adults and $35 for kids.

The lunch includes a prix fixe meal with appetizer and main course, but no dessert. For kinds the lunch includes the entree, a dessert and a celestial beverage. Dinner for both kids and adults get appetizer, main course and a dessert.

Fountain drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included in the prix fixe price, so be prepared to pay. Tom got a Rotating Space Beer that was decent and cost around $12 and I had a $13 mock-tail. But most of the themed cocktails would set you back $18+, so something to be aware of.

Let's talk about the food.

To be honest, the food at Space 220 was a lot better than I was expecting. Despite some reviews we’d read saying it was underwhelming, we actually found our meal to be full of flavor. For us, the appetizers were the real standout. I ordered the Neptuna Tartar, definitely a small portion, but packed with flavor and a really nice balance of acid and sweetness. Tom went with the Beef Carpaccio, which came with a truffle sauce and shaved parmesan and was absolutely delicious.

The main courses were solid, though not particularly memorable. Tom’s Mangala Roasted Chicken was the winner of the two, with a flavorful Indian-inspired sauce that had a bit of spice, perfectly balanced by the cooling coconut rice. My Galactic Miso Salmon was on the drier side, but the sauce was tasty and the tempura fried mushroom on the side was actually the highlight of the plate.

Our kids both enjoyed their meals. One got salmon and the other stuck with classic chicken tenders, and both were happy.

Overall, the menu is decent and unique, leaning more toward East Asian-inspired flavors alongside a few classics. It’s not especially “space-themed,” which felt like a missed opportunity, but still an enjoyable meal.

What is the vibe like?

The vibe of Space 220 is really the reason you book this restaurant. From the moment you board the “space elevator” to travel 220 miles above Earth, it’s easy to suspend disbelief and feel like you’re truly arriving at a space station. Walking through the futuristic hallways and past the glowing “grow zone” is such a fun touch, and the main dining room itself is stunning. It's perfectly themed without feeling over-the-top or kitschy.

We had a table right by the window. And while some people say it’s only worth it if you’re right up against the glass, I’m not sure that’s true. Honestly, being tucked to the far left meant we didn’t see quite as much as we might have from a more central spot. Ideally, the best seat would be front-and-center by the windows, but there’s no way to request that ahead of time. That said, no matter where you sit, the theming and atmosphere are excellent. It's arguably the best execution of an immersive dining concept that Disney has done.

Do we need to make a reservation?

YES! Even though it didn’t feel overly crowded when we visited, Space 220 reservations get snapped up quickly, especially if you’re booking for a larger party. I definitely recommend setting your alarm and grabbing a spot as soon as your booking window opens.

There’s also the option to reserve the Space 220 Lounge, which is essentially the bar area. Those reservations are just as competitive (if not more so), but keep in mind they’re only for guests 21 and older.

Our Review: Is Disney's Space 220 Restaurant worth it?

Our answer is… maybe. I know that’s not the clear yes or no you were probably hoping for, but it really does depend.

Did we enjoy our meal and the overall Space 220 experience? Absolutely. The theming is amazing, the food was good, and if a restaurant like this were in another park - say Magic Kingdom near Space Mountain - it would hands down be the dining reservation to get. The tricky part is that EPCOT already has some of the best food in Disney World. So while Space 220 was fun and unique, the meal itself just wasn’t as impressive as some of the other EPCOT dining options.

If you’ve got a space lover in the family, this restaurant is definitely worth the splurge. My kids had a great time and still like to talk about the fact that they “ate in space.” But if you only have one day at EPCOT with character-loving kids, I’d personally choose a character meal like Akershus or Garden Grill over Space 220.

Try it for lunch or check out the Space 220 Lounge.

If you do decide to go, we. think lunch is the way to go since the menus are similar and it’s a noticeable savings for adults.

And if you’re visiting EPCOT without kids, try to snag a reservation at the Space 220 Lounge. You’ll still get to ride the space elevator, enjoy the incredible atmosphere, and have cocktails and light bites without committing to the full (and pricey) meal.
