Hello fellow travelers, we're the Flight family, Tom, Elizabeth, Arlo & Lila. We are a north Texas based family who love to share our tips, trips and recommendations for making your family travel as stress free, enjoyable and fulfilling as possible!
Tom is originally from northern England and met Elizabeth, a native Texan, over 15 years ago when Elizabeth was studying abroad at the University of Dundee in Scotland. Tom's parents live in a beautiful town in the English Lake District called Kirkby Lonsdale. We are lucky enough to get to stay with them for a couple of months every summer so we can enjoy the English countryside and all the UK has to offer.
In addition to U.S. and European destinations, we also hope to provide insight on tackling more adventurous locations. Elizabeth has been working in international development for the better part of 15 years and has spent considerable time working in East Africa, as well as traveling throughout South America and Asia. She currently runs the non-profit Preserve International, which empowers women refugee farmers in northern Uganda to reduce post-harvest crop loss through innovative food preservation technology and training.
When we're not traveling Tom works as an author and project manager, and Elizabeth runs the food and recipe blog the Jam Jar Kitchen.
